Our History

About Us

MONDHA is an NGO created in 2005 that seeks to improve the living conditions of vulnerable communities with an emphasis on women, children and adolescents, through the implementation of human development programs including health programs, legal assistance, civil and human rights, and education for communities of Haitian and Dominican descent, including national and international experiences, research, exchange projects, publications, cooperativism, environmental issues, conferences, seminars and workshops.

What We Do

Through our social programs, we actively address the challenges Haitians face. Whether providing assistance in legalizing documents to help them address poverty, or advocating for their rights, we are dedicated to creating a lasting impact.

WHAT WE DO

HUMAN RIGHTS

The acute crisis in Haiti and the consequent migrations have caused massive persecutions, raids and deportations by the Dominican army, police and immigration authorities. These actions violate the fundamental rights of women, the elderly, children and adolescents. In response to these events, we seek to provide support to disadvantaged families affected by these circumstances.

EDUCATION

We are dedicated to integrating as many girls as possible into formal education, considering their documentary conditions. In addition, we implement a comprehensive program that addresses legal, psychological, medical and family aspects, providing psychological and medical care and training in productive trades to the target population of our project.

CHILD PROTECTION

The political, social and economic situation in Haiti has generated uncertainty in homes, affecting the most vulnerable children and adolescents. This has led to an increase in child abandonment and child labor, with a significant increase in street children, especially in the border area, according to UNICEF reports.
