At MONDHA, we are deeply committed to promoting the protection, dignity, and rights of vulnerable populations, especially Haitian migrants, children, youth, and underserved communities across Haiti and the Dominican Republic. Our work is grounded in humanitarian values and a development-based approach that combines immediate response with long-term empowerment. We believe in building bridges of collaboration and trust while creating spaces for people to thrive.

Youth Engagement and Prevention
We believe in the power and potential of youth. MONDHA creates spaces for young people to become active agents of change in their communities. Through youth-led initiatives, life skills training, leadership development, and peer education, we provide the tools and support needed for them to make informed, healthy decisions. Our prevention work includes addressing issues like early pregnancy, risky migration, and school dropout through innovative and participatory approaches. We ensure youth voices are heard and integrated in the design and evaluation of all programs affecting them.
Child Protection
Children’s rights are central to our mission. We work to identify and support children facing high-risk situations, such as abandonment, child labor, lack of documentation, or exposure to violence. MONDHA provides child-friendly spaces, case management, family mediation, and community-based child protection services. We also advocate for policies that promote child rights and safety, while collaborating with local and international stakeholders to ensure a protective environment for every child.

Human Rights and Protection
We strive to uphold the human rights of all individuals, regardless of their legal status or background. Our human rights work involves providing legal orientation, psychosocial support, and access to basic services for those facing exclusion, violence, or vulnerability. Through field visits, community engagement, and institutional partnerships, we identify human rights concerns and respond through direct support, advocacy, and capacity-building. MONDHA also works to increase awareness among communities and stakeholders to foster a more just and inclusive society.
Education and Empowerment
Education is a vital tool for change and opportunity. MONDHA supports access to quality education for children and youth particularly girls who are at risk of exclusion due to poverty, migration, or displacement. In addition to school integration programs, we offer community-based literacy and vocational training to build skills, confidence, and economic independence. Our educational programs are complemented by mentorship, psychosocial support, and the active engagement of families and communities in building a culture of learning and growth.

Gender Equality
Gender justice is integral to all our programs. MONDHA actively works to challenge inequality and harmful practices affecting women and girls. Through prevention, response, and empowerment strategies, we provide support to survivors of gender-based violence, promote access to education and livelihoods, and facilitate workshops on rights, leadership, and reproductive health. Our gender programs are designed to uplift and empower women and girls while engaging men and boys as allies in building safe, equitable communities.
